According to Bloomberg, the billionaire titan behind Amazon secured this latest deal through an off-market transaction, indicative of the discretion and exclusivity of transactions within this elite enclave. The 60-year-old billionaire reportedly plans to utilize this mansion as a temporary residence while demolishing two previously acquired properties on the opposite side of the guard-gated island.
Property records indicate that Bezos‘ newest abode was last sold in 1998 for $2.5 million, with former banker Javier Holtz listed as the previous owner. Despite its modest origins, the property spans an expansive 12,135 square feet and features nine bathrooms, a large front lawn, and waterfront access.
However, despite its considerable size and amenities, Bezos’ latest acquisition pales compared to the opulent estates owned by his soon-to-be neighbors, Soffer and Brady.
