One of the most important things for a bride on her wedding day is her makeup. So when it came time for one of the world's most anticipated weddings, Kate Middleton relied on Hannah Martin to look effortlessly flawless. And with wedding season just around the corner, HELLO! caught up with the Bobbi Brown makeup artist to get her tips on looking perfect on your big day.
“The secret to perfect wedding day makeup is to look like you but at your absolute best,” Hannah tells HELLO!. That was certainly the case for the Duchess of Cambridge, who was introduced to the beauty master by her younger sister Pippa.
“Kate really is the perfect example of the best way to approach and wear bridal makeup,” she says. “My role was to take what was already a classic, timeless and pretty makeup look and simply make her camera-ready for billions of TV viewers.”
To look like royalty on your wedding day, Hannah suggests that brides visit department store beauty counters of trusted brands such as Bobbi Brown, Laura Mercier and MAC, where they can try out different artists at little cost upfront.
"A professional can help you decide whether you like the way you do your own makeup, if you need a little extra help with being camera-ready, or whether you really want a total makeover for your big day," adds Hannah. "Ideally, a professional can take your makeup to the next level, so you are secure that you look great in real life as well as in pictures for years to come.”
