It doesn't matter what the reason — whether you slept through your alarm or just decided to save time by not showering — unwashed hair can easily leave you feeling more than a little self-conscious about your looks.

However, Norris Ogario, creative director of the British Ogario London salon, revealed to HELLO! Fashion how to quickly fix your unwashed locks for a chic style in seconds.

1. Accessorize
A head scarf or wide headband will pull your hair off your face, help hide any greasiness and instantly make your hair look chicer. Plus, this works on all lengths of hair and is a great way of distracting attention from less-than-perfect locks.

2. Slick it back

Hide any hair woes by slicking your hair back into a high ponytail using a wax, gel or serum to keep the look super-smooth and sleek, so that any greasiness becomes part of the look.

3. Tie your hair into a messy bun

Nothing rocks the bed head look like a messy bun. Pull your hair into a ponytail on the top of your head and twist loosely into a bun, and for the extra stylish amongst you, securing it in place with a hairband. The more tousled the better so don’t overthink it — you can even tease some extra hair loose if desired.

4. Tie your hair into a half-pony
The roots of hair are a guaranteed grease giveaway, so hide them with a half-ponytail. Pull the entire top portion of your hair into a ponytail at your crown — opt for a sleek finish by brushing it all back in place, or add volume by pushing the ponytail forward slightly to create a slight quiff, then twist the half-pony into place at the back.

5. Braid your hair
Channel your inner Elsa by twisting tresses into a trendy braid and instantly hide a multitude of hair sins. What’s more, braids are so versatile — create small braids either side of your head, braid into a side pony, twist your plait into a bun — the possibilities are endless.
