Kate Middleton says she's 'getting used' to leaving Prince George at school

With Kate Middleton back on her feet, the Duchess of Cambridge has returned to her royal duties, including her mom duty of dropping off four-year-old son Prince George at school. The 35-year-old, who is expecting her third child due in April of 2018, missed her son’s first day at Thomas's Battersea back in September due to her hyperemesis gravidarum. Now that she’s better, Prince William’s wife has been taking George to school, something she admitted she is still “getting used to.”

“As a mother, just getting used to leaving my own child at the school gates, it is clear to me that it takes a whole community to help raise a child,” the mom-of-two said on Wednesday in London at the Place2Be School Leaders Forum.

"Whether we are school leaders, teachers, support staff or parents, we are all in this together. We are all working to give children the emotional strength they need to face their future lives and thrive," she added. “Collaborating with experts like yourselves, we’re looking at providing easy access to information and practical tools to support teachers, parents and children feel comfortable talking about their mental health.”

Championing school support for children’s metal health has been a key priority for Kate. “We are all here today because we share the belief that every child deserves the chance to fulfill their potential,” she said at the forum. “When I came to this conference two years ago, I left with a real sense of energy and passion about what we could all achieve together. And I’m looking forward to learning even more today.”
