Time flies! It’s been 15 years since King Felipe of Spain met his future Queen, then-Letizia Ortiz. The couple came face-to-face for the first time on October 17, 2002 at a dinner party organized by Spanish news anchor Pedro Erquicia in Madrid. While it appears in the video obtained by HOLA! that there was an initial spark between the royal and journalist from the moment they first shook hands, the world would not see the pair together in public again until a year later at the Prince of Asturias Awards on October 24, 2003. Not long after the awards on November 1, Felipe surprised the people of Spain by announcing his engagement to Letizia, whom no one knew he was dating. The couple went on to tie the knot in May of 2004. Since then the royals have welcomed daughters Princess Leonor, 11, and Infanta Sofía, ten.
