Prince Philip of Serbia marries artist Danica Marinkovic in royal-studded wedding

American-born Prince Philip of Serbia married his fiancée Danica Marinkovic in a spectacular wedding on Saturday, October 7. The couple said "I do" at the Cathedral Church of St. Michael the Archangel in front of a host of European royals, before celebrating at the White Palace in Belgrade, Serbia.

Danica — also known as Dana Maar — was a modern bride wearing a full-length silk gown by designer Roksanda Ilincic that featured billowy sheer long sleeves, a thick belt and a sweeping train. The bride styled her hair into an elegant low chignon, decorated with pearls. The graphic designer accessorized her wedding day look with emerald diamond drop earrings, a matching pendant necklace and her new wedding band.

During the traditional church wedding, the 35-year-old Prince — who was born in Fairfax, Virginia — and his new wife, 31, wore red crowns. Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden served as maid of honor and looked lovely wearing a blush pink gown and white shawl. Victoria was accompanied down the aisle by the groom's older brother, Prince Peter. Queen Sofia of Spain was another notable royal in the crowd, as was the groom's younger twin brother Prince Alexander, and their parents Crown Prince Alexander of Yugoslavia and Princess Maria.

After the ceremony, the newlyweds were showered with rose petals as they left the cathedral and chauffeured back to the White Palace for their lavish reception. Guests were treated to traditional dance performances, live music and speeches, and gathered around to watch Philip and Danica cut their six-tiered wedding cake.

During dinner, the groom gave a heartfelt speech, telling his guests: “Danica and I thank you all for being with us on the most beautiful day of our lives so far. We are so happy to share the joy of this moment with you. We thank our parents for organizing this magnificent celebration for us here at the White Palace. And above all, thank you, Dana, for all your love and making for making me the happiest man in the world,”
