Gina Rodriguez is widely known for being one of the most philanthropic actresses in Hollywood. From being honored by the ACLU for her work supporting women and immigration to being a Hispanic Scholarship Fund board member, and now she’s taking action in an unexpected way. The Puerto Rican star, 33, has teamed up with ThredUp, the biggest secondhand store online, to sell items from her closet. The proceeds from the sales will benefit Girls Inc., a non-profit organization the aims to help girls navigate economic and social barriers through supporting, mentoring, and guiding them in an affirming and pro-girl environment.

Gina, along with 29 other women deemed by ThredUp as the “best-dressed women of America" are now selling some of their clothes online for this wonderful cause. And with International Women’s Day on March 8, this couldn’t come at a better time! On the retailer’s website, you can browse their "Shop Her Closet: 30 Best Dressed" initiative and see whose style matches your own. Gina, for example, describes hers as “adventurous, hippie chic, fun, whatever fits” and she’s selling over 20 pieces online.
Sharing a photo of herself in her closet on March 6, the Jane the Virgin star penned: "My pops would always say, give your blessings away and you’ll make room for more. Thank you @thredup for taking my old threads and giving the proceeds to GirlsInc which is an awesome charity that empowers young women all over the country. I hope whoever gets these pieces enjoys them as much as I did!" Now, who wants to go guilt-free shopping for a great cause?!
