It's hard to deny that Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez are Hollywood's IT couple: They rang in the New Year by working out together, give lessons on business (and style) to Stanford students when they're needed, and (this one is the most important), Alex is the ultimate Instagram boyfriend, always on hand to make his girl look good on the 'gram while the duo is walking red carpets. However, this perfect relationship may not have been as perfect if they had met earlier in life, so says our girl from the Bronx.
Jennifer Lopez revealed that her relationship with Alex Rodriguez might not have been successful if they had dated at another point in their lives
In an interview with Grazia magazine, the 49-year-old actress revealed that things could've been different for her and Alex if their paths had crossed earlier. "I feel like I have only just got comfortable and am finally confident in who I am and what I do," she confessed. "I really wish I would have found this confidence in my early thirties, but it took me a long time to get there. I'm still a work in progress, by the way."
Jennifer has been dating the former Yankees star for almost two years now, but thinks the relationship wouldn't have been as successful if they hadn't connected at her current stage in life. Before that, she was focused on her career, while he was still playing baseball. "[Alex] has said it was too crazy and I didn't know him back then, so I am going to take his word for it," she told the publication. As for J. Lo, she admitted that her younger self had a need for some self-exploration in life. "I needed to bounce around a little bit and figure myself out. I wasn't ready for the healthiest things because I needed to figure out how to be healthy first - have self worth, value, deal with my insecurities," she said.
Today, it's a whole different story. Jennifer can't fathom a world without Alex. "We're kind of mirror twins of each other, but at the same time total opposites...And we just compliment each other really well that way," she recently told Extra. The two were spotted house hunting last Saturday (January 5), so perhaps the couple is planning for a bigger and more spacious home for their blended family. Jennifer has 10-year-old twins Max and Emme from her marriage to Marc Anthony. And Alex also has two children —14-year-old Natasha and 10-year-old Ella— from his marriage to Cynthia Scurtis.
