Serena Williams and Alexis Ohanian’s New Orleans wedding was a dream come true and the photos prove it! The 36-year-old tennis star was the epitome of elegance as she said “I do” to her 34-year-old fiancé during a lavish and star-studded ceremony. Wearing not one, but three different dresses throughout the evening, the whole affair was as if Serena, who is a big Disney fan, wished upon a star. The fashionista shared all the details and photos of her breathtaking time as a bride with Vogue, which included a look at her exquisite down-the-aisle gown by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen, the same designer who created the Duchess of Cambridge’s dress.

“I flew to London to meet with Sarah and ended up falling in love with the ball gown silhouette, which is completely the opposite of what I ever thought I would choose for myself,” Serena told Vogue. “I loved the idea of doing a really spectacular ball gown, and it has turned out to be such an incredibly special piece.” In addition to the strapless, belted gown, Serena sparkled in XIV Karats jewelry, which was worth a whopping $3.5 million in total. Meanwhile, her groom wore an Armani suit.

Serena’s dress slipped into the theme of her special day flawlessly; she as she and her Reddit co-founder Alexis had decided on Beauty and the Beast-inspired nuptials. Their venue, the Contemporary Arts Center, was filled with Disney-inspired décor, complete with a gold arch of flowers at the end of the aisle. Naturally, the couple’s first dance was to the classic Tale as Old as Time.

Around 200 guests were invited to the incredible ceremony, including Serena’s close celebrity friends: Beyoncé, Kim Kardashian, Kris Jenner, Eva Longoria, Kelly Rowland and fellow tennis star Caroline Wozniacki. Vogue’s editor-in-chief Anna Wintour was also notably in attendance. For the reception, the bride changed into a second dress, a feathered Versace number. Serena’s third outfit change was for her first dance with Alexis, which showed off her incredible figure in a stunning fitted Versace look with a short skirt.
The new parents, who welcomed daughter Alexis Ohanian Jr. in September, chose to wed on November 16 as a tribute to the groom’s mother, who passed away nine years ago. “It is her birthday, and we wanted her to be represented at the wedding,” said Serena to Vogue. “Obviously, we wish that she could be here for this, but choosing her birthday as our wedding date was a nice way of making sure she’s still involved and made us feel more connected to her on our day.”
