Camila Cabello’s new video is straight out of a telenovela! The 20-year-old released the music video for her single Havana featuring Young Thug on Tuesday, October 24. The video begins with Camila playing the lead in a dramatic soap opera, which shows her lover (or lover’s twin brother) in bed with her best friend and a maid. The scene abruptly ends and cuts to Camila eating popcorn in her living room while watching her telenovela.
Camila's abuela (played by LeJuan James) and her “extra” sister (played by Lele Pons) try to convince her to leave the house and “live her life.” When that plan fails, Camila decides to watch another telenovela and ends up sneaking out to the movies when her grandmother falls asleep. Inside the theater, Camila watches a film titled Havana, which she is the star of.

The Crying in the Club singer stuns in a red fringe dress as she dances with a potential love interest, while Young Thug raps. At the end of the movie, Camila is taken by surprise when the beautiful girl in the film ends up alone like her. “Wait a minute. That’s it? That’s the ending? You end up alone?” the Cuban-American singer says in the audience, to which the actress onscreen responds, “Hey sweetie. If you don’t like my story, go write your own" — which Camila does, dancing her way into the arms of a handsome stranger.
