After all these years, Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato are still one in the same! The former Disney Channel starlets reunited for the first time in years on Monday, October 23, at the InStyle Awards in Los Angeles. The childhood friends looked stylish for the occasion with Demi wearing a lavender gown by Alice and Olivia, which she paired with Gianvito Rossi heels, while Selena kept it simple, yet elegant in a little black dress by Jacquemus. The singers, who were last photographed together at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards, happily posed for pictures at the event where Demi was honored with the Advocate of the Year award and Selena presented Hung Vanngo with the Makeup Artist of the Year award.

The Hands to Myself singer and Demi, who are both 25, first met as seven-year-olds starring on Barney & Friends. The two eventually went on to work for Disney and shared the screen in the 2009 Disney Channel original movie Princess Protection Program. The pair have endured ups and downs in their friendship over the years. "I've known her since we were 7, and we did fall apart for a while," Selena told Seventeen in 2014. "She was going through things and I was so young and it was confusing. I processed it saying, 'OK, I don't understand what she's going through, so I'm just going to do this.' I don't think it was fair, and I'm so happy that I have her back in my life now." Later that year, Demi told Andy Cohen, “People change and people grow apart.”

While they've had a tumultuous friendship, the pair continue to support each other in difficult times. Last month, Demi had nothing but positive words for Selena after her kidney transplant was revealed. “I think that she is a very strong woman,” the Confident singer told People magazine. “I’m very happy and proud of her.” Selena similarly praised her former bestie following the release of her documentary Demi Lovato: Simply Complicated. "Demi," the Bad Liar singer commented on Demi’s Instagram post for the documentary. "This was beautiful. I’m so happy for you. You always continue to be bold and real. I wish more people were like you." She added, "Love you.”
