Billie Lourd honors mom Carrie Fisher by getting matching tattoo for her birthday - see the sweet photo!

Billie Lourd commemorated what would have been her mom Carrie Fisher’s 61st birthday on Saturday, October 21 in an incredibly moving way. The 25-year-old American Horror Story star used Instagram to send love to her mom across the galaxy with two touching posts. In addition to a sweet throwback birthday photo, the actress also shared a picture of something moving she had done to honor Carrie forever. It appears as though Billie, who had a very close relationship with her iconic mom, is now linked to her through ink!

Billie showed off a cosmic tattoo on her right ankle, an almost exact replication and placement of the one her mother had. The Scream Queens talent clearly made the design her own, with updated outlines of the stars and planets. She also opted to get the work done in black and white versus Carrie’s choice of color. However, it is a clear nod to her famous mama. The ink art was done by L.A. celebrity tattoo artist, Doctor Woo, who also shared a post about the work. “For @praisethelourd . Tribute for her mom today, on her birthday,” the tattoo artist wrote along with star, prayer and heart emojis.

The ink reveal comes after Billie posted a sentimental throwback photo of her and her mother. In the pic, the mommy-daughter duo are seen wearing matching nightgowns as Fisher places her arm on young Billie’s shoulders. Along with the snap, which seemed to be a part of a larger collage, Billie mimicked her mom’s social media style of writing in solely emoji lettering, saying: “Happy Birthday Mom.”

Billie’s uncle, and Carrie’s brother, Todd Fisher, had previously discussed the pair’s plans to mark the late star’s first birthday since her passing last year. “You can be sure that Billie and I will have a moment in reflection on Carrie’s day,” he told E! News. “I remember all the great things that she said and the example that she set for so many other women.”

“I see people almost every day that come up to me and hug me and tell me what an amazing inspiration that she was, as a survivor and a woman who stood up for what she believes in,” he added. “It’s amazing how many people recognized her for that.” Carrie, most known to the world as Princess Leia, passed away at the age of 60 on December 27, 2016. After the actress and writer suffered a heart attack on a flight from London to L.A., she died at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center.
