They were like fire and rain, but Demi Lovato remembers the exact moment she fell in love with ex-boyfriend Joe Jonas. The 25-year-old took a trip down memory lane with two of her closest friends ahead of the release of her YouTube documentary Simply Complicated. In a video shared on Demi's YouTube account, the Disney Channel alum watched vintage clips of herself, including ones with the former Jonas Brothers member from their movie Camp Rock. When asked by one of her pals if she had a crush on the DNCE frontman the entire time they filmed the 2008 movie, Demi replied, “Oh yeah.”

As the clips of the on-screen lovebirds continued to play, Demi pointed out the exact moment she fell in love with the 28-year-old. “Oh my God, wait,” she said. “This moment I freakin’ fell in love with him. In real life.” The actress noted of the scene, "I wasn't acting much." Joe and Demi, who dated for "like a month" after filming the movie, shared their "first kiss on camera" during the sequel. "I love my past," the Confident singer admitted in the video.
Despite splitting, the musicians have been able to remain friends. Last year, Joe opened up about his and brother Nick Jonas’ long-lasting friendship with Demi. “It's surprising just in the world we live in -- it's tough to stay friends with people who are in the industry over this much time,” he told Billboard magazine.

Joe continued: "We've seen each other go through tough times, good times, in and out of relationships. It's funny to think back on that now. It feels like we were children, although I guess we were. She is like a sister to both of us, and it's great to know we all have that support. It's like, it doesn't matter what comes our way. We're going to be able to make it through." After their relationship, Demi went on to date That '70s Show star Vilmer Valderrama for six years. The singer is currently promoting her new candid documentary Simply Complicated, which premieres October 17 on YouTube. Discussing the documentary, Demi previously said, “I touch on everything that I’ve been through and how it turned me into the person that I am today.”
