While Pedro Pascal only starred on seven episodes of Game of Thrones, his stint was enough to launch the Chilean-born actor into international stardom. “My life changed,” the TV star told Entertainment Tonight of his role on the HBO’s hit series. “I’ve been getting to see the world.” Now starring on the popular Netflix show Narcos, Pedro noted: “No matter where you go, there’s going to a place where they’re really into Narcos and you’re the guy from Narcos, or the guy from Game of Thrones."

The 42-year-old has traveled to a number of countries including Croatia, China, London and Colombia for his projects where he has had strange fan encounters thanks to his "international popularity." “I was snorkeling, and this person kept on looking at me,” Pedro recalled. “I remember I got really nervous because I thought there was a shark or something… He’s just, like, coming toward me and without introducing himself or anything, he just pulls out his GoPro and he takes a picture of us.” It took the actor a moment to realize that he had been recognized despite wearing underwater gear, while "floating out at sea."

Though his underwater encounter was weird, Pedro, who will reprise his role as Javier Peña on Narcos, isn’t complaining. “I’ve been having that fantasy since I was a child,” the Great Wall star admitted. “And then I realize that the fantasy is actually just like, being in a trailer, synced into a moment perfectly scored to some cool music because it’s such incredibly, incredibly hard work. And getting to it at an older age is funny," adding, "Because everything hurts."
