Earlier this week, Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez added their names to the long list of celebrities sending support to those affected by Hurricane Harvey. In a heartfelt video posted on their respective Instagram accounts, on Tuesday, August 29, the couple teamed up to call on their fans to help. “Our hearts are just breaking for all the families that are displaced all of the victims,” Jennifer said in the video while sitting close to her beau. “It’s just devastating and we just want to do our part to help.”
Alex added: “Jennifer and I are going to do $25,000 and it is our opportunity to come together as one to help out all the great families in distress down in Houston. We’re praying for you and God bless all of you.” The pair, who are donating a total of $50,000, also shared information with fans on the proper donation channels. Since Harvey made landfall in Houston, Texas on Friday, August 25, leaving thousands displaced, celebrities like Beyoncé, Kate Hudson, Jenna Bush Hager and more have sent aid and support to the Lone Star state.
The Kardashian-Jenner clan showed a unified generosity to the recovery efforts on Tuesday, with Kim, Khloe, Kourtney, Kris, Kendall Jenner and Kylie Jenner giving a rousing $500,000 to the Red Cross and the Salvation Army. According to TMZ, the money from the reality family will be wired and split evenly to both organizations. The Kardashian family was reportedly moved to make the hefty donation because of the courage and bravery shown by all those battling the storm in Houston and the volunteers helping with relief efforts.
