Enrique Iglesias has a secret brother. A DNA test confirmed that Julio Iglesias fathered a love child, a 40-year-old Spaniard named Javier Sanchez. A lawyer for Javier said that there is a 99.99% DNA match between his client and the famous singer. A judge has not yet ruled it official.

For over 20 years, Julio’s illegitimate son had been trying to prove that the recording artist is his father. While the Grammy winner denied the claim in the early 1990s, Javier was able to secure a DNA test thanks to Article 39 of the Spanish Constitution, which protects the rights to paternity investigations for all of its citizens. According to reports, the test was done legally with discarded items in Miami, where Julio resides.

The Valencia resident’s mother Maria Edite Santos, a Portuguese dancer, reportedly had an affair with the recording artist while he was married to his first wife Isabel Preysler. The DNA confirmation makes Javier the ninth child of the famous singer. Julio, who is currently married to Miranda Rijnsburger, is also a father to pop star Enrique, Chabeli, Julio Jr., Guillermo, Miguel, Victoria, Rodrigo and Cristina Iglesias.
