Congratulations, Carters! Beyoncé and Jay Z's family became a party of five this past week. The Lemonade singer and her rapper husband welcomed twins sometime between Monday and Tuesday evening, according to multiple reports. While the genders have yet to be confirmed, the babies are thought to be a boy and girl. This time around, Bey and Jay Z, whose real name is Shawn Carter, chose Los Angeles as their children's birthing place over New York City, since making it their official home in 2016.

E! News reported that the power couple’s five-year-old daughter Blue Ivy was seen with her father on Thursday visiting an L.A. hospital, supposedly where Bey gave birth. The world later received a big hint on the gender matter when the publication confirmed a woman was spotted delivering a bouquet of pink, purple and blue flowers to the same hospital the 47-year-old rapper and Blue were seen visiting. She also carried two giant baby foot-shaped balloons in pink and blue that read: “baby girl” and “baby boy.” The card attached to the flowers had a visible “B+J” scribed on the envelope, which of course implied that it was for none-other-than “Beyoncé + Jay Z.”
The Love on Top singer famously made her pregnancy announcement on her Instagram back in February, literally almost breaking the Internet. “We would like to share our love and happiness,” the 35-year-old wrote along with a photo showing off her bump. “We have been blessed two times over. We are incredibly grateful that our family will be growing by two, and we thank you for your well wishes. – The Carters.”

Shortly after creating an online frenzy with the news, Beyoncé took the stage at the Grammys, where she performed an ode to motherhood. The mommy-to-be graced the stage during the music celebration, where she sang Love Drought and Sand Castles, before taking home awards for Best Urban Contemporary Album (Lemonade) and Best Music Video (Formation).
After the news broke, Beyoncé’s mother Tina Lawson opened up about her family’s new additions. “It’s the biggest blessing,” she told Extra’s Mario Lopez in April. “I’m just so excited.” Remaining mum about the gender of the two babies, the designer continued: “I would be happy with whatever God gives me.” That month, Beyoncé and Jay Z embarked on a fabulous babymoon to Tahiti. The couple’s getaway on the secluded island doubled as their nine-year anniversary celebration according to reports.

During the duration of her pregnancy, Beyoncé stepped out in chic maternity wear. The Love on Top songstress dressed her baby bump in various high-end fashion pieces during outings with her family to NBA All Star Weekend, the premiere of Beauty and the Beast and her mother's Wearable Art Gala in May. During the event, Beyonce’s former Destiny's Child group member Michelle Williams told E! News she was “doing great,” while her mother added the her oldest daughter was “feeling good.”
Ahead of the twins' arrival, Tina and Michelle joined Kelly Rowland, La La Anthony and more stars for the Carter Push Party held in May at a private residence in Beverly Hills. Beyoncé adorned her baby bump with henna for the Mother Africa-themed occasion, where guests celebrated the impending arrival of the latest additions to the Carter family in style.
