Oops! Barack Obama might have accidentally spilled the beans on the gender of Beyoncé and Jay Z's twins. The possible revelation came in a video the former US President recorded, congratulating Blue Ivy's father – whose real name is Shawn Carter – on becoming the first rapper to be inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame. In the tribute to his friend, the dad-of-two [Sasha and Malia] said, "Jay and I are also fools for our daughters. Although, he's going to have me beat once those twins show up. And let's face it, we both have wives who are significantly more popular than we are."

While Michelle Obama's husband might have hinted that the Lemonade singer is carrying twin girls, he also praised his pal Jay Z. "I like to think that Mr. Carter and I understand each other," Barack said. "Nobody who met us as younger men would have expected us to be where we are today. We know what it's like to not have a father around; we know what it's like not to come from and to know people who didn't get the same breaks we did, so we try to prop open those doors of opportunity so it's a little easier for those who come up behind us to succeed as well."

Jay Z, 47, wasn't on hand to accept his award at the 48th annual Songwriters Hall of Fame Induction and Awards Gala in New York City on Thursday evening. Instead, his close friend, CEO of Warner/Chappell Music Publishing Jon Platt, accepted the honor on behalf of Beyoncé's husband. The rapper's absence at the show comes amidst speculation that the Drunk in Love artist, 35, has already welcomed her twins. Though Jay Z skipped the awards show, his mother, grandmother and sisters were in attendance.

Beyoncé announced in February that she was expecting twins. "We would like to share our love and happiness. We have been blessed two times over," the expectant mom wrote. "We are incredibly grateful that our family will be growing by two, and we thank you for your well wishes. - The Carters."
