Katy Perry ends longtime feud with Taylor Swift: 'I love her and want the best for her'

Hot n Cold! After years of tension, Katy Perry has ended her highly publicized “feud” with fellow superstar Taylor Swift. In a candid interview with The Thrive Global Podcast, Katy opened up about the duo’s “bad blood,” declaring that she’s ready to move on. The topic came up during the singer’s lengthy discussion with Thrive Global founder and CEO Arianna Huffington, which was part of her promotional tour for her new album Witness.

While discussing the 32-year-old star's recent appearance on James Corden’s Carpool Karaoke, Arianna point blank asked if Katy is “ready to let it go.” “I am ready to let it go,” the Roar singer replied. “I forgive her and I’m sorry for anything I ever did, and I hope the same from her. I think it’s actually like, I think it’s time. There are bigger fish to fry, and there are real problems in the world. You know what I’m saying? And I love her, and I want the best for her.”

Katy also said that she believes this could be a great way to showcase power in the uniting of women. She continued to say: “I think she’s a fantastic songwriter, and I think that, you know, if we, both her and I, can be representatives of strong women that come together despite their differences, I think the whole world is going to go like, ‘Yeah, well we can do this.’ I don’t know. Like maybe I don’t agree with everything she does and she doesn’t agree with everything I do, but I just really truly want to come together in a place of love and forgiveness and understanding and compassion.”

According to the podcast’s online journal, the entertainer seemed visibly relieved afterwards. She threw her hands up dramatically and broke out in a rendition of “Let It Go” from Frozen. Katy continued, “There’s a lot of other things out there in the world that people need to be focused on, and I truly, like, God bless her on her journey. God bless her. Honestly.”

Katy had only recently confirmed her rumored “beef” with the 27-year-old Shake It Off star on Carpool Karaoke. Fans have long thought the two stars were at odds; Taylor's hit song Bad Blood is believed to be about Katy, and Katy's latest track, Swish Swish, is said to be her retaliation. "There's a situation… she started it, and it's time for her to finish it," Katy told James, revealing that the pair initially fought out over backing dancers. “I’m ready for the B.S. to be done.”
