Tom Cruise rarely opens up about his private life, let alone his daughter Suri, whom he shares with ex-wife Katie Holmes. However this week at the Australian premiere of his new film The Mummy, the Mission Impossible star made a rare comment about his little girl. When asked by the Sydney Morning Herald if he thought his 11-year-old might have gotten the acting gene from her Hollywood parents, Tom replied, “You never know, you never know.”

While Suri may or may not pursue a career in acting, the 54-year-old noted that he’s been making films since he was young. Tom said, ”For me, I just love making movies. I have been doing it my whole life.” The Mummy actor and Katie tied the knot in a lavish wedding in Italy back in 2006, before splitting in 2012. The Dawson’s Creek alum, 38, has primary physical custody of their young daughter.

Earlier this year, Katie opened up about raising Suri in the spotlight. She admitted on The View, “I raise my child like [how] my family, sisters raise their children and how I was raised.” Katie added, “I love being a parent and I feel really blessed to have such a sweet little girl.” The mom-of-one has previously stressed the importance of giving Suri a “stable” and "innocent childhood.” She told Town & Country magazine, "My child is the most important person to me, and her upbringing is paramount to my work right now,” adding, "It’s very important that I’m present.”
