The cast of Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tells had a swashbuckling surprise for fans during their latest premiere. Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom and Javier Bardem used the Disneyland Paris theme park to make a grand entrance at the film’s premiere on Sunday, May 14, where they shocked fans stepping off of a boat docked at the park’s castle. Johnny, who plays Captain Jack Sparrow in the beloved Disney franchise, was all smiles as he greeted fans and opened up about stepping back into Jack’s boots. “It’s endless fun,” Johnny told reporters at the European premiere. “He’s a really fun character to play because I’m allowed to be as irreverent as I want.”

The veteran actor, 55, also noted that working with “frenemy” Geoffery Rush didn’t hurt. “Each time out it’s always something new between Geoffery and I,” Johnny said. “Geoffrey’s character Barbosa and mine, they’re like a husband and wife team that just sort of bicker at each other.”
Orlando, who is making his official return to the Pirates franchise, reflected on the great memories the movies have brought him during his career. “I have such fond memories of making the first three films,” Miranda Kerr's ex said. “They were such an important part of my career and my life." Orlando continued, “[My character] bookends the film, sending my son off on a journey to do what I did through the first three films, which is to reconnect and mirror that father-son story.

The man who plays Will Turner admitted that there is one film in particular that sticks out for him. “The first movie was arguably one of the favorites and I think people will respond similarly to this film," Orlando said. "I think this will bring back some of that similar narrative from the first film and excite the imagination in that way. With a simpler story but all the amazing visual effects – and Johnny doing what Johnny does so well."
New to the franchise is Javier Bardem, whose wife Penelope Cruz starred in the film’s fourth installment. Javier, 48, found joy in trading places with is wife and acting alongside his good friend Johnny. "Facing Jack Sparrow was fun,” he quipped. “Sometimes I was watching Johnny doing it and I lost my lines because I enjoyed watching him so much.” The Spanish actor added, "I think the quality of the movies is pretty amazing, also the talent involved. Geoffrey Rush, Orlando, Johnny: to work with those guys is to work with some of the best actors out there, so as they say it's a no brainer.”
