Brand it like Beckham! Victoria Beckham has trademarked her daughter Harper Beckham's name. The 42-year-old fashion designer registered “Harper Beckham” with intellectual property authorities in Britain and Europe, which prevents anyone else in the entertainment industry from using the moniker. According to the BBC, the application was filed on December 22 and states that Victoria is the holder of the rights as Harper's parent and guardian. The former Spice Girls member is therefore the only person who can use her little girl’s name on products.

Harper is named after Harper Lee, the author of the classic American novel, To Kill A Mockingbird. After her birth in 2011, doting dad David Beckham revealed, "Victoria's favourite book is To Kill A Mockingbird, it's a very strong, passionate book and the author was Harper Lee, and that is where Harper came from." News of the trademark means that Harper is now officially part of the Beckham brand. The five-year-old’s older brothers, Brooklyn, 18, Romeo, 14, and 12-year-old Cruz were signed up to the UK's Intellectual Property Office and the EU-wide office at the same time. Meanwhile David, 41, registered his name back in 2000 and Victoria trademarked her own name in 2002.

Last year at UNICEF’s 70th anniversary celebration, the former soccer star admitted that he wants his kids to have the “right opportunities.” He said on stage at the United Nations, “My wish for children is to have the same opportunities as what my children have, our children have and what you have. The right opportunities. The opportunities to live their lives. The opportunities to be given a chance at life.”
