A royal wedding is taking place this summer! Princess Caroline’s stepson Prince Ernst of Hanover, the eldest son of Prince Ernst August, is set marry his fiancée Ekaterina Malysheva at a medieval church this upcoming July. Hanoverian newspaper Hannoversche Allgemeine Zeitung reported that the groom will marry the Russian-born designer at the local church, the Marktkerk. The celebration will likely continue at the Castle Marienburg, which belongs to the family and serves as the official seat of the Royal House of Hanover.

It was revealed last summer that the 33-year-old Prince is engaged. Ernst proposed to Ekaterina, after nearly five years of dating, during a family holiday in Greece. The couple resides in London, where the royal works in banking. Meanwhile Ekaterina founded her clothing company EKAT in 2013. Sienna Miller, Poppy Delevingne, Rita Ora and Ella Eyre are among celebrities who have worn her striking designs.

European royals are expected to attend the summer nuptials. Notable guests on the groom's side would likely include his royal relatives such as his younger brother Prince Christian, godfather King Felipe of Spain and his half-sister Princess Alexandra, who is the 17-year-old daughter of Prince Ernst and his ex-wife Princess Caroline. Prince Albert’s sister, and the Hanoverian royal, who is a descendant of King George of Great Britain, split ten years after tying the knot in 1999. Prince Ernst had to ask for Queen Elizabeth’s permission to marry Grace Kelly's daughter at the time.
