Although Beyoncé was one of the headliners of this year's Coachella festival, the 35-year-old singer - and her fans - will have to wait another year to be part of the annual Indio, California show. On orders from the doctor, Jay-Z's wife should be resting during the 2017 edition of the music and arts festival, as she is in pregnant with twins, as she reported a couple of weeks ago.
"Following doctors' orders to keep a less complicated schedule in the coming months, Beyoncé has made the decision to step down to perform at the 2017 Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival!” can be read in an official statement issued by the organizers of the event.
But Beyoncé does not want to miss a date so important to her career and agreed with the organizers to re-head the poster for 2018, when the babies are already born. "Goldenvoice and Parkwood are pleased to confirm that she will be headliner of the 2018 festival. Thank you for your understanding."
The performance of Beyoncé was one of the most anticipated this year and would take place on April 15 and 22. This would have been the first time she performed as a soloist on the festival stages and would have been the first woman to have her name in big letters on the poster since Bjork's show in 2007.
After a memorable performance on the 59th Grammy Awards, the singer had to choose very well the shows in which she will appear in order to not endanger her health or that of her babies.
Five years after debuting as a mom with the birth of Blue Ivy, the actress also took the world by surprise with the announcement of her second pregnancy, news that she confirmed with a kitschy photograph. In case the news was not enough to cheer her followers, the singer revealed that she expects twins.
So far she has not given more details about her pregnancy, such as the gender of the babies or the possible name they can carry. The only thing she shared a day after the good news, was the complete album of the photo shoot in which she already shows of her pregnant belly.
