Céline Dion, who is still in love with René Angélil, revealed: ‘He's the only man I ever kissed'

It has been almost nine months since the death of the music producer, but the Canadian singer has him as present as ever

No doubt the love story of Céline Dion and René Angélil  has been one of the most brave and exciting in the world of music. They met when she was only a child and, after working many years together, they fell in love. But after 21 years of marriage, the happiness of the successful couple was unfortunately cut short by cancer, a disease that stole the life of the music producer. It has been almost nine months since his death, but despite the time, the Canadian singer is still talking about him with a twinkle in his eyes, that glow only seen in a woman who had to say goodbye to the "only man she kissed and loved" in her life.

"Before he left us, it was very, very difficult for all of us. For me in particular, and my children, to see the man of my life dying every day a little more. And when he left, it was a relief for me [because] he was the man I loved, the only man I kissed, the only man I ever loved," said Celine Dion in an interview with Mo Rocca for CBS to celebrate having completed a thousand performances in Las Vegas.

"Yes. I've never kissed another man in my life," the Canadian artist reaffirmed, and then went on to relate what was for her the death of her beloved husband and finally feeling that he was at peace. "So the man of my life was my partner, and together we were one. Then when he stopped suffering I told myself it was fine. And he didn’t deserve to suffer," she said.

It is logical that having felt such a strong love like Celine Dion felt for Rene Angelil, it becomes difficult to about falling in love again, so when the interviewer asked the 48 year old artist about it, she replied: “I love. I love. I love him. I’m still in love with him. And I have the love of my children. I have the love of my fans. I love the people that I work with.  So my life is not empty of love. But there’s a song from Sia, ‘I go to sleep and imagine that you’re there with me.’ And I go to bed with him. And I come on stage with him. And so I’m still married to him.”
