Jennifer Lopez is casting a new leading man! The 49-year-old triple-threat has been tapped to star in the new romantic comedy, Marry Me set to begin filming this fall. For her leading man, the actress and STXfilms are in the final talks to cast comedian Owen Wilson. “Owen Wilson is a hilarious and charismatic addition to the film,” STXfilms chairman Adam Fogelson told Variety. “And the perfect person to play opposite Jen in a role that was quite literally made for her.”
Jennifer Lopez has found her leading man for her upcoming film Marry Me
Marry Me is based on the Graphic Novel by Bobby Crosby. In the film, the Medicine singer plays a pop star who finds out that her rockstar fiancé is cheating on her with her assistant – moments before they tie the knot at Madison Square Garden. After having a breakdown on stage, she picks a random man out of the crowd to marry in his place. The film will be the second time Jennifer and Owen have worked together. In 1997, the pair starred opposite each other in the thriller, Anaconda.
In a statement, released by STXfilms, Adam expresses his excitement about working with the star for the third time. “We continue to have amazing experiences with Jennifer, Elaine and Benny with each film we collaborate on, and we’re thrilled that they want to work with STX again on this endearing project,” the statement said. J.Lo worked with the production company for the 2018 romantic comedy, Second Act and is currently working with the team for her upcoming film Hustlers.
