Kate Middleton made a splash stepping out in a nautical ensemble on Friday for her visit to the Land Rover BAR roadshow in London. The Duchess of Cambridge looked picture perfect for the outing to the Docklands Sailing and Watersports Centre sporting her one button ivory Zara blazer, which she paired with J.Crew’s navy wool sailor cropped pants and her J. Crew Avery tweed heels, while wearing her glossy locks down in her signature blowout.

Prince William’s wife, who is a patron of the 1851 Trust, was in her element as she chatted with young pupils from East London at the event, which uses the excitement of Sir Ben Ainslie's America’s Cup to engage young people in STEM — science, technology, engineering and mathematics — subjects.

One such student was Rafi Ahmed, who surprised the royal with a question. Recalling his conversation with the Duchess, Rafi revealed, “I said ‘How many cars do you have?’ [Kate] said she had a Land Rover. She asked me, ‘What's your favorite car?’ I said a Lamborghini. I felt like I was going to be famous.”

During her visit, Kate joined a group workshop on Ocean Health learning about the impact of single-use plastics and participated in a treasure hunt with students. The Duchess has been a patron of the youth sailing and education initiative since 2014. After the June 16 activities, the 35-year-old chatted with sailor Sir Ben Ainslie via a video chat noting: "Seeing some of the activities today with the 1851 Trust and what the kids have been doing here, is really exciting, as well as seeing some of the different elements behind the racing."
