Celine Dion admits it's 'too soon' to start dating following the death of husband René Angélil

Celine Dion’s heart is not going on without René Angélil. Over a year after losing her beloved husband to cancer, the singer admitted that she is not ready to jump back into the dating pool. “Now it is definitely too soon for me. I am definitely in love with him [Rene], married to him,” the mom-of-three confessed in an interview with the UK’s The Sun. “He’s the love of my life. It’s very difficult for me to see myself with another person. The love that I have for him, I live it every day. And as a woman, we do have emotions and feelings that come and go. And it’s always with him.”

The 49-year-old continued, “When I sing, it’s with him. When I hug my kids, it’s for him and it’s with him. I took time to grieve and I’m still grieving.” Celine, who married René in 1994, admitted that she will probably “grieve the rest of [her] life.” She said, “René has prepared me for all my life since I'm 12. I have never met another man in my life, never kissed another man in my life."

The Power of Love singer shares son René-Charles, 16, and six-year-old twins Eddy and Nelson with her late husband. Since René’s passing, the Grammy winner noted that her relationship with her sons has gotten stronger. “I got myself a huge, huge, huge bed and I sleep with my twins,” she revealed. “They are comforting me a lot. I need them. I need them close. And when it’s time for them to say they want their room, their room’s ready. But we watch a lot of TV together. I’m discovering Disney.”

While their father is no longer present, Celine makes sure that her boys still communicate with their “papa.” The doting mom shared, “We kiss him every night. We have a little ritual where we say goodnight to him with a little picture. Then the kids talk to him. And they write words, put them in balloons and we send the balloons to the sky.” “They’re really well because I’m strong. I’m sounding pretentious but if I don’t show them the way, they will question it,” Celine noted. “Papa is not coming back but Papa is in your heart.”
