It also doesn’t hurt that his new girlfriend, who is originally from the Bronx, is also a “big Yankees fan.” While Jennifer shares a love for her boyfriend’s sport, it’s her personality that’s hit it out of the ball park for Alex. "She just likes simple things," he said. "She's a very very, simple person. She loves family. She’s a great sister. She’s a great daughter."

As for whether there is anything J.Lo fans would be surprised to know about his new lady love, the 41-year-old said, "For one, she was a track star in high school [and] in junior high," he revealed. "She’s an awesome, awesome athlete” — while also admitting that the entertainer enjoys indulging in chocolate chip ice cream and chocolate chip cookies.

Since news of the pair’s coupling emerged, fans have dubbed the two J-Rod, a play on Alex’s nickname A-Rod. Discussing his and J.Lo’s Hollywood couple name, the baseball player joked, “That's what Pete Rose calls us.” HOLA! confirmed earlier this month that the singer and retired baseball star are an item. Shortly after the announcement, Jennifer, 47, made her way to Miami and followed by the Bahamas for a romantic getaway with Alex. While on their Caribbean vacation, the Shades of Blue actress gave fans a quick glimpse at a selfie with her man on her Instastory.
