Happy first birthday Prince Alexander! Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia of Sweden’s little boy turned one on April 19. To mark the occasion, the Swedish Royal Court released three new photos of the birthday boy. Alexander was joined by his parents for one tender family portrait. The doting parents cuddled their firstborn, who looked adorable wearing a button-down shirt and khaki jacket.

A second photo shows the stylish little Prince flashing a toothy grin for the camera, while posing by himself on a step. Prince Carl Philip snapped the final image of his son sitting on a chair wearing blue jeans and a white shirt as he unwrapped a small birthday present.
Alexander, who is fifth in line to the Swedish throne, is set to become a big brother this year. Sofia and Carl announced last month that they are expecting their second child due in September. In a statement, the couple said, "We are happy to announce that we are expecting a child, a sibling to Prince Alexander. We are looking forward to welcoming a new little member to our family.”

A few months after Alexander's birth in 2016, the pair opened up about the joys of parenthood. Sofia told Sweden's Svenskdam, “It's amazing," adding, “Having children changes your whole life.” The proud mom noted, "[Alexander] is very sweet and well-behaved." Carl also discussed his new role as a first-time dad telling the outlet that it took “some adjustment, of course, but it is still absolutely amazing and wonderful."
